Remember that our valiant company has been the target of the deranged Mayor of Teaville…and all roads have been leading to the final confrontation. But first, an update on the previous adventure.
Lest you forgot…
Bavmorda: a half-elf rogue
Pyre Fierceshot: half-elf ranger
Ellora: human sorceress
Brunhilda: half-orc barbarian
The party enters Kokoa with the rescued Dwarf Princess:
1. Kokoa’s mayor is rendered incompetent as Pyre devises the entire military strategy for the impending invasion.
2. Brunhilda is confused by Pyre’s use of a big word (terrain).
The party stays the night in Kokoa, leaving bright and early the next morning:
1. AirEagle returns to transport party to Spriten (to gather troops).
2. Brunhilda is terrified of flying (discussion ensues about how to prevent falling damage).
3. WASPS!!
a. Brunhilda pursues and chops one in half. Ellora lightning bolts one and casts Hold Person on one.
b. Bav critically fumbles, nailing Brunhilda in the rear. The quick-thinking rogue drops the bow and arrow, whips out her short sword, and manages to look innocent by the time Brunhilda turns around to see what has happened.
c. New Bumper Sticker slogan: OBJECTS IN DM’S DESCRIPTION ARE CLOSER THAN THEY APPEAR.
d. Brunhilda, evidently distracted, is then stung by a wasp.
e. OOG Discussion: How does one know if a paralyzed wasp is dead?
f. Ellora and Bav tend to a now-nauseous Brunhilda (remove arrow and stinger).
g. OOG FRUIT BREAK.
Spriten’s mayor (Mayor Leaf) welcomes the group and promises 80 archers to assist in the war effort. The brief lull in the action leads to an interesting discussion about the color of half-orc nipples (notes do not reveal conclusion). The next town on the map route is Limonada:
1. The group locates a dead human in the road; he is identified as the Kokoan messenger.
2. Brunhilda is ecstatic when an ogre leaps out from the bushes. Between Pyre and Brunhilda, the ogre is hurting pretty bad, and Pyre chalks up the final kill (Brunhilda is slightly put out).
3. MORE WASPS! Ellora fireballs two. The Eagles are seriously pissed off when the Wasps attack them and they join in the fray.
4. Bav’s Important Discovery: Eagles carry beagles.
5. Mayor Rafa is reluctant to hand over troops and so puts the party through a test. Ellora attempts to show her cleavage to dissuade the mayor, but her Diplomacy check fails miserably, negating her fabulous rack.
6. Party enters dark room with instructions to ‘make it out’. A stone dragon statue is a trap that deals 20 points of fire dmg to Brunhilda. Pyre finds suspicious writing on the wall (half-orc porn is suspected). Further investigation releases a black stone pendulum, which deals Ellora eight points of boob damage. Brunhilda pokes the stone dragon in the eye and takes more fire damage. Even though Brunhilda clearly points out the source of the fire, Pyre fumbles a Spot check and cannot see it. Finally, the trap is dismantled.
7. Brunhilda squares off in a game of ‘smogs’ against a little boy named Elliot; she wins, group gets out, and Mayor Rafa agrees to send 30 magic users to battle. He also hands over a chest that contains a Ring of Protection, Spider Climb, Cure, and Invisibility Potions.
As it turns out, Limonada has a really good pizza joint, prompting the party to stop for dinner.
In the best interest of time, the party decides to engage in night travel on to Molassa. Guards force the party to abandon their weapons, and Fleera is happily reunited back with her father, Chief Kruk.
Interesting situation right there in the Dwarf Throne Room:
1. Five Teavillians are there, “informing” Kruk of the party’s theft and treachery.
2. The party argues that, in fact, Teaville is planning a heinous invasion of all surrounding towns.
3. Kruk believes the party and commits 50 fighters to the cause.
4. During the night, Pyre awakens to a strange sound – someone is riffling through his stuff. Turns out he’s in possession of other party members’s items as well. He has no sufficient answers, and party takes him before Kruk.
5. Rider is thrown in jail.
6. Surprises in the morning: the Rider is gone, and has been replaced by Fleera. Party now suspects a Polymorph.
The party departs from Molassa, in hot pursuit of the traitorous Rider:
1. Pyre finds tracks to the northeast, which leads to a pack of bugbears. Brunhilda rages, Ellora Magic Missiles, Pyre Rapid Shot, Bav crossbows.
2. Soon, the Rider is spotted. Pyre aims and misses, Ellora casts Hold Person, Bav ties him up. Rider reveals that he a Changeling, hired by Mayor Petey of Teaville to stop us. He is then killed by Brunhilda.
3. AirEagle then transports Pyre to Kokoa for advance military planning. The rest of the party travels back with a caravan of Dwarves.
The company arrives safely in Kokoa – and the final battle looms.
